SHKS Architects worked with the owner to renovate a former office space to redefine the traditional Jewish delicatessen for a contemporary Pacific Northwest setting. Materials and finishes reflect the cuisine – local, natural, healthy. Kitchen and prep areas are open to the seating area allowing cooks to engage diners. Traditional Jewish recipes are updated and “Made with love” using fresh, organic, local ingredients. The take out counter and seating areas are informal and inviting. Exposed mechanical systems and simply suspended light fixtures are carefully coordinated with product displays and signage.
