Transforming space, cultivating relationships.
The Atrium Kitchen project transformed an underused area of the Economy Market Atrium into a new demonstration kitchen to showcase the skills of local chefs and food from the market. The kitchen hosts education events, private dining, and catering for larger events. It also provides a venue for Market farmers, restaurants, and food merchants to demonstrate local products and prepare samples. The kitchen forms both a vital event space and an intimate learning environment; folding glass doors offer the flexibility for large gatherings or small classes. The Atrium Kitchen expands the relationship with existing Market customers and cultivates new ones by allowing shoppers to complete the farm-to-table cycle in one of the city’s most iconic locations and one of the nation’s most image-able public spaces.
