Modern spaces for current and future campus needs.
The 51,900-square-foot project includes an expansion of University of Washington Libraries collections’ facilities and a modernization of the iSchool educational spaces. The project is occurred in two occupied locations during construction and serves two different end user groups. Part one was a 30,000 square foot interior tenant improvement of a historical building off-campus to create a climate-controlled book storage room with requirements similar to Smithsonian Institution standards. The first floor of the UW Allen Library, with the team having coordinated the removal of books and delivery into their new spaces, was also renovated. This complex tenant improvement project includes new offices, collaboration and team-building spaces, and kitchenettes for staff.
