Improving educational spaces for a neighborhood school.
SHKS Architects has worked with Seattle Country Day School to make improvements to accommodate its changing curriculum, educational, and staff needs by designing improvements at three of its six buildings on campus. SHKS fast-tracked the renovations, beginning design in time for summer construction. The renovations included converting office space to an instructional music room, build-out of a small STE(A)M lab, finish upgrades to classrooms, converting library support space to a new director’s office, and remodeling a building for IT and administrative functions. SHKS completed the design and remodel of an existing single-family house for school admissions staff and prospective students, and site improvements to improve campus wayfinding.
